Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said that the city would work with its state partners to prevent violent crimes. "Since 2022 began, we had a 9-year-old shot, a 16-year-old shot and killed at work and now a police officer. Folks have had enough of deadly gun violence," Johnson said.
Police have N. Water Street from E. St. Paul Avenue and E. Erie Street blocked off for an investigation. Officers were seen walking in and out of nearby businesses.
