What does this community leader do?
Founded nonprofit [Heroes For Healthcare] to advocate for underrepresented medically trained veterans [to] transfer their training to civilian healthcare careers.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Laura got legislation passed to help WI veterans be employed at a healthcare facility at a level commiserate to their military training while earning their medical license. She increases awareness of discrimination against medically trained Veterans and the quality of their training that should be given credit for prior learning when enrolled in education.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Laura is [a] visionary and pushing for medically trained Veterans to be accepted for higher level healthcare jobs as a way to decrease healthcare employee shortages.
