MILWAUKEE, WI — Party-goers and celebrators of St. Patrick's Day can consider themselves lucky if they plan on using the Milwaukee County Transit System to get around on Friday.

All bus fares will be free that night starting at 6 p.m. and until the end of regular service, according to a news release from MCTS and Molson Coors. The transportation option comes as part of the Miller Lite free rides program, which has given 1 million rides locally since it began in 1988, the company said.

“We are always eager to support Miller Lite in offering free rides to keep our roads and communities safe on special holidays,” said Kristina Hoffman, MCTS director of marketing and communications in the release. “We are proud to offer a way for Milwaukee County residents to enjoy a night of celebration with friends and family with a responsible ride home from MCTS.”

The ride program looks to promote alcohol responsibility on major holidays.

“Milwaukee has a rich Irish heritage that we continue to celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day,” said Alison Hanrahan, Molson Coors community affairs manager in the news release. “However you plan to celebrate this year, rest assured knowing that our Miller Lite Free Rides program is a convenient, safe and reliable way to get home.”
