Several parks will host events today, continuing a local tradition that began in 1911.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The Fourth of July is here, and Milwaukee is ready to celebrate. Community events are planned throughout the city today, including parades, picnics, talent contests, games, and fireworks.
The celebrations continue a tradition that dates back more than a century, to 1911.
This year’s official theme, chosen by the Milwaukee Fourth of July Commission, is Joining Hands in Unity.

Residents are reminded that while the city will host official fireworks shows, personal fireworks are illegal in Milwaukee. Officials urge everyone to celebrate safely.
Here’s a look at what’s happening today across city parks:

- Gordon Park (2828 N Humboldt Blvd) – Daytime activities, parade, and fireworks
- Humboldt Park (3000 S Howell Ave) – Daytime activities, parade, and fireworks
- Jackson Park (3500 W Forest Home Ave) – Fireworks only
- King Center (1531 W Vliet St) – Daytime activities only
