Motorcyclist Hospitalized In Downtown Milwaukee Interstate 43 Crash

MILWAUKEE, WI — A motorcycle crashed on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee Tuesday afternoon, hospitalizing the rider and causing a closure of the southbound lanes near State Street, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

A tweet from the agency said the rider was conscious and breathing when they were brought to the hospital and the freeway has since reopened.

Earlier, the sheriff's office said traffic was only being allowed through in the righthand distress lane while first responders tended to the single motorcyclist around 2:34 p.m. The rider suffered serious injuries, authorities said.
