Making Home Possible:
How GreenLight Mobility ™ Keeps People Safe and Independent
When someone slips or falls while stepping into their bathtub, everything can change. They may have been vibrant, independently living alone for over 20 years in their home where they raised their children. But a broken hip and a long hospital stay can leave someone frightened and uncertain about returning home.

Stories like this are becoming more common in communities across the country as the Baby Boomer generation ages. According to AARP, a staggering 80% of older adults say they want to remain in the home they love for as long as possible. But aging brings challenges, falls, reduced mobility, and medical conditions that make everyday activities dangerous. And, mobility challenges extend to people of all age groups, think chronic conditions, progressive diseases, traumatic events, special needs, etc.
That’s where Matthew Mestelle comes in.

As the owner and operator of GreenLight Mobility™ of Milwaukee, Matthew (a Physical Therapist) has dedicated his career to keeping people safe at home, where they belong. His mission is simple: to create safe and accessible home environments for people living with mobility challenges and/or aging in place.
“Home is more than just four walls, it’s your identity, your independence, your peace of mind,” said Matthew. “We’re here to protect that.”
Drawing on decades of healthcare experience, Matthew, with the help of his team, provide free in-home assessments and customized recommendations to improve safety and accessibility. Whether someone is coming home from a hospital stay, recovering from surgery, or simply trying to avoid a life-altering fall, the GreenLight Mobility™ team assesses every detail. They use a patient-centered approach not only looking at the layout of the house, but taking into consideration the medical condition, is it progressive or non-progressive, the patients’ functional status, as well as the goals of the patients.
Then, they take action!
The technicians and carpenters who work at GreenLight Mobility™ of Milwaukee™ can move forward with any modifications recommended. They install everything from grab bars and ramps to stair lifts, accessible showers, and custom railings, all tailored to the individual and their home.
“We’re not a typical home improvement company,” said Matthew. “We’re healthcare providers who understand the needs of those we serve. Every home we modify, every grab bar we install, that’s someone’s life we’re helping to protect.”
By modifying their home, a client can regain dignity and continue living safely in the home they love.
GreenLight Mobility's™’ ability to make an impact isn’t limited to older adults. They also work with children with disabilities or younger people who have had a traumatic accident or have a significant medical condition. Their message is universal: No one should be forced to leave their home because it’s unsafe or inaccessible.
As our population ages and families look for solutions, the work of GreenLight Mobility™ of Milwaukee couldn’t be more urgent.
“Falls in the home are a leading cause of serious injury and even death,” Matthew explains. “We have the power to prevent that. But people need to know what to do and where to turn.”
For Matthew Mestelle, this isn’t just a business, it’s a calling.
