Minor Injuries After Plow Truck Turns On Side At Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport

A driver had minor injuries after an airport plow truck turned on its side at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, officials said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A driver is injured after an airport plow truck overturned and flipped on its side on a taxiway on Tuesday at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, airport officials said.

The plow truck was the only car involved in the accident and the accident won't affect airport operations, airport spokesperson Christie Green told Patch. The truck overturned around 9:30 a.m.

"Flights are continuing to land and take off at MKE," Green said. "The airport remains open during this winter storm, and crews are doing an excellent job keeping the runways treated and open for airline traffic."

Travelers are reminded to check with their airline for their latest flight status, Green added.

The accident followed a statewide winter storm that caused icy rain, occasional snow showers and freezing roads. Wisconsin residents are expected to continue to see freezing rain with bursts of sleet and small hail across southern Wisconsin, the National Weather Service reported.
