Temps To Feel Like 100+ In Southeast WI, Storms Could Hit: NWS
Residents are advised to drink water, take breaks and never leave kids and pets in the car amid a heat advisory on Tuesday.
MILWAUKEE, WI — Heat index values up to 105 were expected for most of southern Wisconsin on Tuesday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service reported. Forecasters were also watching for strong storms in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties in the late evening.
A heat advisory will go into effect for all of southern Wisconsin between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m., forecasters said. Heat index values, or how hot the temperature will feel, will reach up to 104 degrees in Waukesha and 103 degrees in Milwaukee.

The city of Milwaukee Health Department issued a heat advisory for the city and will monitor for heat-related illness Tuesday, the department announced. Residents were advised to drink plenty of water, take breaks from physical activity and never leave kids or pets in the car.

Scattered thunderstorms may roll into southeast Wisconsin along an advancing cold front in the evening, forecasters said. It's not certain how widespread storms will be, forecasters said as of 9:36 a.m.

Thunderstorms were expected to reach Waukesha and Milwaukee between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., forecasters said. Gusty winds and heavy rain were the main risks during the storm.
