50th Carlsbad Village Street Faire Returns Sunday, May 5: What To Know
Over 100,000 visitors will descend on Carlsbad over the weekend for the largest one-day street faire in the nation.

CARLSBAD, CA — For the 50th time, the Carlsbad Village Street Faire will take over the downtown village of Carlsbad this weekend.
The free outdoor street faire is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5.
"Each year, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce hosts the faire in May and November," a spokesperson for Visit Carlsbad said. "Now, in its 50th year, the free event has grown to be so popular that it continually attracts people from all over Southern California and other states."

Some visitors even plan their vacations around the bi-annual event, they said.
"The Carlsbad Village Street Faire runs on the first Sunday of May and November," a spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce wrote of the event. According to the chamber, visitors can expect about 900 arts and crafts booths, antiques, a Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast, an international food center, a huge section with children's rides, and a certified Farmer's Market.

"The Carlsbad Village Street Faire brings the rich history of the city and its residents all into one place," a Visit Carlsbad spokesperson wrote on its website. "Don't miss this chance to stroll through Carlsbad Village, taste new things, sip a beverage of your choice, buy vintage souvenirs, and play games with the kids. Book accommodations now for a fun Sunday full of shopping, food, and festivities."

To reach the faire, take Carlsbad Village Drive west from I-5.
Free shuttle bus service is provided from the Shoppes at Carlsbad (Jefferson exit, south of Highway 78) and the Coaster Station (Avenida Encinas, Poinsettia exit, west of Interstate 5).
The City of Carlsbad provides Free Bike valet service at the Engel & Volkers parking lot at 2965 Roosevelt St.
- Ride your bike or e-bike to the valet check-in station (don't forget your helmet!)
- An attendant with the San Diego County Bike Coalition will attach a claim tag to your bike and give you a matching claim wristband.
- Enjoy the festivities knowing your bike and accessories are kept safe and monitored in the valet area.
- Check back in at the bike valet station to pick up your bike.

The Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event bi-annually, holds the faire twice yearly, in May and November.
