Carlsbad To Host Slew Of Spooktacular Halloween Events

CARLSBAD, CA — It's spooky season, and Carlsbad has planned a slew of spooktacular Halloween events for the community.

From a family-friendly dance party to a festive pumpkin plunge, the city is hosting several events all month long.

"Events and activities like these bring our community together to learn, help the environment or simply to connect with one another," Carlsbad spokesperson Tyra Wu told Patch.

Pumpkin Plunge

The Pumpkin Plunge at Alga Norte Aquatic Center will feature pool activities and games with prizes and floating obstacles. The splash pad will also be open for the little ones. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 14. Register online.

Halloween Costume Repair

Halloween Costume Repair at Carlsbad City Library will feature several booths and workshops on reuse, repair and recycling with a Halloween theme, including a DIY craft table, costume repairs and a swap section. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 21. Register online.

Haunted Halloween Bash

The family-friendly Haunted Halloween Bash at Pine Avenue Community Center will offer decorations, thrilling activities, spooky treats and a haunted house. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 27. Register online.

Dia de los Muertos

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos at Leo Carillo Historic Ranch. The park will open after hours from 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 28 for a family-friendly celebration that will include dinner, a no-host bar, crafts for kids and the movie "Coco." Tickets are available by pre-sale only. Admission is $25 per person. Children 3 years old and younger are free but still need to register.

Halloween Dance Party, Oct. 28, Cole Library

An all-ages Halloween dance party is planned at Cole Library. Hosted by Children's Division staff, this event will feature an easy dance lesson, followed by an hour of spooky music and dancing, treats and family fun. The party will start at 3 p.m. Oct. 28. No registration required.
