5 Felony Arrests, 2 Guns Seized, 10 Vehicles Towed: Sideshow Crackdown

Four East Bay law enforcement agencies banded together in an effort that also resulted in citations and misdemeanor arrests.

HAYWARD, CA — Determined to put a stop to sideshows, a Regional Sideshow Enforcement Team (RESET) was formed by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, Hayward Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and San Leandro Police Department.

Last weekend, RESET received information that a sideshow was about to take place near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Harder Road in Hayward. Officers stepped in and disrupted the sideshow before it could escalate and take over the intersection.

RESET team members made 65 traffic stops that resulted in:

  • Felony Arrests: 5
  • Misdemeanor Arrests: 6
  • Citations: 21
  • Firearms Seized: 2
  • Vehicles Towed: 10

RESET has drones at their disposal, as well as air support from ACSO, CHP, and the Oakland Police Department.
