All Lanes Reopen on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge After Repairs
The lane closures caused midday delays for drivers.

Hayward, CA— Two lanes that were closed for hours on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge have reopened this afternoon after maintenance crews did work on a metal plate installed on the bridge deck, Caltrans officials said.
The lane closures began around 10 a.m. near the high-rise section of the bridge and were initially expected to remain in place until 2 p.m. The lanes ended up reopening as of 3:25 p.m., Caltrans officials said.
The lanes had been closed to allow crews to attach additional bolts to the metal plate, which was installed last week over a pothole that opened up on the roadway.
