"Castro Valley Yoga has always focused on making yoga accessible for people who are not your stereotypical yoga students. We have a lot of seniors and people newer to yoga." commented Ellen Bell, a teacher and current owner of the studio. "Yoga offers so many benefits for almost anyone and we want to help anyone who's curious learn what it's all about and what it can do for them."

Bell, along with several of the other current teachers, was one of the studio's first students. Originally located on Lake Chabot Road near , the studio was founded as Eden Yoga by Brianna Stevens in 2002.
