1 Healdsburg City Park Reopens After Flooding; 2 Remain Closed
Badger Park, in the south part of the city along the Russian River, had to be power-washed and mulch needed to be added.
HEALDSBURG, CA — One local Healdsburg park has reopened following repairs of flood damage this past week, but two others and a popular local garden remain closed pending assessments of needed work, according to the Healdsburg Community Services department.
City crews spent the past week working Badger Park, in the south part of the city along the Russian River — power washing the playground and surrounding areas of flood-related silt, adding 200 yards of playground mulch, removing silt and muck from park walkways and inspecting lighting and other electrical items. Badger Park reopened this weekend, according to Healdsburg Community Services' Facebook page.
The community garden at Badger Park will remain closed until city workers can complete an evaluation of the area.
