Burned Body Found Near Windsor Identified
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office used dental records to identify a man whose body was found in a truck fire.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified the person who was found dead in a burned truck near Windsor Saturday as Michael Dawson, 69, of Santa Rosa. Dawson was found in a burned Chevrolet pickup near a vineyard in the 12000 block of Los Amigos Road after the Windsor Fire Protection District put out the fire.
Firefighters called the sheriff's office around 4:40 p.m., sheriff's office spokeswoman Misti Harris said. The coroner's office used dental records to identify the sole occupant of the truck.
The death is still under investigation, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
