Christmas Cheer In July: Photo Of The Day
Patch loves photos! Share your photos with your local Patch, and your work could be featured.

HEALDSBURG, CA—Patch reader Melinda Pressler sent in this lovely photo of a plant in bloom. She recalled seeing the color orange pop out in Healdsburg the week after the fires.
It is a Kniphofia "Christmas Cheer," also known as a red hot poker and torch lily, according to Kathy Keatley Garvey of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology.
Or, as Ellen Zagory, former horticulture director at the UC Davis Arboretum, describes it, "It's a torch lily on steroids. It gets big and puts out a large display of showy flowers in winter and long into spring."
