Dry Creek Inn Debuts $1 Million Renovation

A reception was held at Villa Toscana to celebrate the sophisticated upgrades

About 80 people, including hotel guests and local community members, attended a celebration of the reimagining of the Villa Toscana at Dry Creek Inn. It was held Sept. 4 from 5-7 pm.

Guests enjoyed Sonoma wines and light appetizers. Attendees included representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and other special guests.

The Krugs undertook renovations and upgrades at both their Sonoma County hotels, the Dry Creek Inn in Healdsburg and the Sonoma Valley Inn located in the town of Sonoma, to meet the rising expectations of the ever-more sophisticated guests drawn to the region for the fine wine, culinary delights and beauty. Both pet-friendly properties have been upgraded to the tune of $1 million dollars each.

Along with the renovations, the names of the two buildings at the Dry Creek Inn have been changed to Casa Siena and Villa Toscana to better reflect the new upgrades and the experience that guests will have from the moment they check in to the minute they check out.

The Dry Creek Inn started as a humble roadside inn when it was first built in the 1980’s. Today, the original 100-room building boasts new carpeting, fully upgraded bathrooms with new granite countertops and plush new towels. The Casa Siena also houses the hotel’s well-appointed gym and swimming pool. Far from its roadside roots, the newly renovated Casa Siena building is perfect for the savvy traveler looking for deluxe accommodations at a value in the heart of Sonoma wine country.

Villa Toscana

Next door, a completely different experience awaits guests at the Villa Toscana, a 60-room building surrounding the Tuscan-style piazza. The Villa Toscana was born out of hotelier and owner Norman Krug’s love for the Tuscan countryside. While traveling through Tuscany, he fell in love with the architecture, romance and warmth of the country inns he visited. He brought that inspiration back to Sonoma wine country in the form of what is now the Villa Toscana.

Designed to offer guests a respite from their busy wine country visit, the Villa Toscana offers the amenities usually reserved for five star hotels – every detail from the quality of the linens to the bath amenities have been carefully selected to offer guests the perfect wine country experience. Rooms in the Villa Toscana all feature sumptuous king beds, two-person jetted soaking tubs, granite bathroom countertops, fireplaces, and a patio or balcony that looks out to the Piazza. The name change reflects the luxurious rooms, which now feature spa-quality bath products and bottled water to enhance the guest experience.

Along with the upgraded rooms, the hotel has also completed renovations on its Krug Event Center with Tuscan-inspired murals. The Krug Event Center is perfect for business meetings and corporate retreats. Private patios, fireplaces and water features make the Villa Toscana an unforgettable venue for a wine country meeting.
