Healdsburg Man Arrested on Suspicion of Beating Another Man With Metal Club
28-year-old man booked at Sonoma County Jail, posted bail.

A Healdsburg man was arrested Monday on suspicion of beating another man with a metal club on Friday night, a police sergeant said.
Javier Mendoza Rodriguez, 28, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after he went to the Healdsburg Police Department and turned himself in on Monday, police said.
Rodriguez was taken into custody, but later posted bail and was released from Sonoma County Jail, according to police.

Police found the 28-year-old beating victim unconscious in the middle of the first block of Ward Street in Healdsburg around 9:40 p.m. Friday, Rodriguez said.
The victim suffered severe facial injuries and was bleeding profusely, and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to police.

Officers found a witness who said the victim had been assaulted with a metal club, police said.
