Healdsburg Man Passed Out At Stop Sign Arrested For DUI: Police
A concerned person called first responders about a driver who had been stopped for an extended period at an intersection, police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A Healdsburg man was arrested in Petaluma after he passed out at a stop sign while driving under the influence of drugs, according to police.
A concerned person called first responders around 7 a.m. June 9 about a driver who had been stopped for an extended period of time at an intersection, police said.
Officers arrived to find 24-year-old Joahan Maldonado unconscious behind the wheel, according to police, who said Maldonado was under the influence of multiple drugs and in possession of suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested and booked into Sonoma County jail on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, controlled substance possession, controlled substance possession for sale, cocaine base possession for sale and drug paraphernalia possession, police said.
“This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by drug-impaired driving. Thank you to the community member who reported this incident,” the Petaluma Police Department said in a social media post. “If you see a suspected impaired driver, please call 911.”
