HEALDSBURG -- Among the more than 4,200 wineries in California, only 14% reported a woman as their lead winemakers, according to a study by Santa Clara University for Women Winemakers.

But women are making huge strides in the wine industry, including one out of Healdsburg at J Vineyards and Winery, who was named 2022 Winemaker of the Year Wine Star Award by Wine Enthusiast magazine.
