MARIN COUNTY - Marin County firefighters and a California Highway Patrol helicopter crew rescued a hiker who fell from a cliff at Tomales Point in the Point Reyes National Seashore Tuesday evening.

The 22-year-old Placerville man was hiking on the ocean side of Tomales Point around 5 p.m. when he fell 10 to 15 feet onto rocks and broke his arm, according to Marin County Fire Battalion Chief Bret McTigue.

The CHP's H-32 helicopter responded and a medic was lowered to the injured hiker, who was then hoisted into the helicopter, CHP Officer James Andrews said.
