New Healdsburg City Attorney Sworn In

After nine years with the same city attorney, Healdsburg welcomes a new legal professional in that same pivotal spot.

David Warner was sworn in earlier this month to replace Mike Gogna, who is retiring. Gogna, who also retired from his posts as Ft. Bragg city attorney and assistant attorney for Windsor, started with Healdsburg on Sept. 2, 2003.

Since then, he has logged more than 700 hours with the city.

"Mike Gogna has done a fantastic job," said Mayor Gary Plass. "He has been a listener, a mentor, a coach and a psychiatrist."

Both Gogna and Warner are associates in the Bay Area's prominent Meyers, Nave law firm.

In other Healdsburg city business, a group of city employees received special recognition for exceptional public service.

Recognized at a public ceremony earlier this month were:

--Shawn Sumpter, engineering aide.

--Selena Osborne, public works inspector.

--Ruben Mandujaro, fire engineer.

--Scott Ward, building official.

--Todd Woolman, electric utilities line foreman.

--Valerie Macor, senior accounting clerk.

--Jonathan Jimenez, a finance meter reader who took action to help out at an incident at a Healdsburg dog park.

--Debra Nelson, administrative specialist.

--Tina Lindenberg-Kirschner, administrative services superintendent.

"It's been a tough couple of years," Plass said. "And you guys continue to step up to the plate and hit home runs."
