No Reward For Healdsburg Resident Who Returned Stolen Sculpture
The person who returned a ball-peen hammer sculpture that was stolen from the Healdsburg Community Center last October won't be rewarded.

HEALDSBURG, CA -- The saga continues of a massive ball-peen hammer sculpture that was stolen from the Healdsburg Community Center last October and remained missing until being reported found six months later.
The local resident who says they found the sculpture on their property in April -- minus the handle -- and arranged to have it returned to police is angry because they won't receive the $1,000 reward offered for it, according to the person's lawyer.
The person claiming to have found the sculpture has chosen to remain anonymous, but their lawyer, Izaak Schwaiger, told the Press-Democrat that his client is unhappy that the reward that artist Doug Unkrey offered after the sculpture's theft won't be paid for the artwork's return.

The reward, Schwaiger said he was told, is for information leading to the hammer's recovery, not for the return of the 20 foot long, 800 pound sculpture itself, or the six foot, 200 pound hammerhead.
"Since this was an anonymous event and he only retrieved part of the artwork no reward is forthcoming," Schwaiger told the Press-Democrat he was informed.
