Police Search For Truck, Driver Involved In Hit And Run
A motorcyclist was left with severe injuries in the Santa Rosa crash.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Rosa Police Department was still working this week to identify the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash with a motorcycle.
The collision was reported shortly before 3 p.m. April 30 at the intersection of Hopper Avenue and Airway Drive. The crash left the motorcycle rider suffering severe injuries, police said.
Several witnesses called 911 and reported a silver or gray F-150 pickup truck had collided with the motorcycle, then fled the scene as the motorcyclist lay unresponsive in the roadway. The motorcyclist appeared to be suffering life-threatening injuries and was immediately taken to a local hospital.

Several witnesses told investigators the motorcyclist was traveling east on Hopper Avenue with a green light when the pickup truck made a left turn in front of the motorcycle from westbound Hopper, trying to turn to southbound Airway.
"The pickup truck collided with the motorcycle at the intersection of Hopper Avenue and Airway Drive and immediately fled the scene," police said. "The driver did not stop to render aid to the motorcyclist or call 911 to report the collision."

Witnesses described the suspect's vehicle to investigators, who worked diligently to develop information that may lead to the identification of the involved pickup truck and any occupant(s) at the time of the collision, police said.
Investigators are seeking a gray four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck manufactured sometime between 2004 and 2008. The driver was possibly wearing a black-and-white, flannel-style shirt. The driver's age, gender, and race are unknown.
The truck had the following distinct features:
- apparent stickers in the top driver's side corner of the windshield;
- black rims on the tires; an FX4 sticker on the bed of the truck;
- white in the middle of the taillights;
- Rectangular — as opposed to circular — front front fog lights;
- No front license plate.
- Silver sidesteps.
