Unemployment Stays Down in Sonoma, Napa Counties

Sonoma at 7.6 percent; Napa at 6.9 percent, state EDD says.

 

As reported earlier in Patch, the local employment picture in Sonoma and Napa counties seems to be gradually improving.

On Friday, that trend continued, according to an October jobs market report from the state Employment Development Department.

As reported in the Press Democrat, Sonoma County's jobless rate for October was 7.6 percent, the same as the prior month, but down from a year ago when it was 9.3 percent.

The EDD also reported Napa County's unemployment rate at 6.9 percent -- a four-year low.

Those figures were compared to the state unemployment rate of 10.1 percent, and national figure of 7.9 percent, the newspaper said.
