Avon Cooling Centers Opened

In view of the high temperatures, the town is designating the senior center and library as cooling centers.

These centers will be available for any resident seeking respite from the heat and humidity.

The senior center hours of availability are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is located at 635 West Avon Rd. and the phone number is 860-675-4355.

The library is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
