Holiday Closures Announced For Berlin Offices, Schools

Christmas is Wednesday, Dec. 25, and New Year's Day is Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, with several town and school impacts announced.

BERLIN, CT — The upcoming holiday season has local towns and schools in holiday mode for the upcoming Christmas and New Year's holidays.

And with both New Year's Day and Christmas falling on a Wednesday this year, the following impacts should be noted in Berlin.

Berlin Town Hall and several town offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

As a result, there will be no recycling/trash collection on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec.25, and collection will be delayed one day.

New Year's Day

The following week, all Town of Berlin departments (Berlin Town Hall) will only be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, in observance of the New Year's Day holiday.

In addition, trash/recycling collection will not take place on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, and it will be running on a delayed schedule the remainder of the week.

Berlin schools have early dismissal on Friday, Dec. 20, with the school system's winter break lasting Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2025. Classes resume as normal on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
