BERLIN, CT — Monday, Sept. 22, is the first day of autumn, so, appropriately, that is when registration will begin for Berlin's 21st annual Scarecrow Contest.

The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging residents, volunteer/civic organizations, and businesses to create their own unique scarecrow for the autumn season.

Scarecrows will take up residency on the lawn area to the right, as you enter the Arthur B. Powers municipal complex. This is free to enter, and set-up will be on Oct. 10-12.
