• Canton Responders Getting Busier And Busier (patch.com) — Canton residents are relying on their Fire & EMS Department more than ever, with 2025 bringing a record 1,899 calls for service, up from both 2024 and a decade ago. Local responders say they are meeting the town’s growing needs with professionalism and pride, and thanked members for their ongoing commitment to the community.
   

• Canton Woman Accused Of Fleeing Southington Police In Stolen Vehicle: SPD (patch.com) — A 42-year-old Canton resident is facing multiple serious charges after Southington police say a stolen vehicle from Hartford was pursued and safely stopped on West Street, where drugs, fireworks, and prohibited weapons were recovered. She and a Bristol man remain in custody on reduced bonds, with upcoming court dates in February.
   

• East Granby holds off Canton rally to win fourth straight game (collinsvillepress.com) — Canton High boys basketball nearly pulled off a dramatic home comeback, erasing a late seven-point deficit before falling 49-48 to East Granby in a conference matchup Wednesday night. Canton’s Jaden Diaz scored seven points in 31 seconds to briefly give the Warriors the lead, and the team will look to rebound when they host East Windsor on Monday.
