$3M Bridge Project Topic Of Virtual Farmington Forum

The state Department of Transportation Wednesday, Oct. 23, is hosting the information forum about plans to build a new bridge on Route 10.

FARMINGTON, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation will conduct a virtual public information meeting Wednesday on the replacement of a bridge carrying Route 10 over a stream in Farmington.

It will take place on Wednesday, October 23, at 7 p.m.

The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project.

The meeting will take place on Zoom and registration is required.

A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.

“The purpose of this project is to replace an aging structure to ensure long-term resiliency of the stream, as well as increase pedestrian accessibility along the east edge of Route 10,” said DOT Project Manager Brianna Ritacco. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2027.

The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $3.11 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds.

Members of the public can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meeting.

This meeting will also be live-streamed on the CTDOT YouTube channel; no registration is required. Non-English language closed captioning will be available on Zoom and YouTube.
