Potentially Life-Saving Traffic System Coming To Farmington
I-84 near Exit 39 in Farmington will be closed later today into the morning so state crews can install a wrong-way detection system there.

FARMINGTON, CT — The state Department of Transportation has announced the installation of a Wrong Way Driver Detection System on Interstate 84 westbound at Exit 39 in Farmington.
Work is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, April 9, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety.

Installation will be carried out by state workers and will require a temporary closure of I-84 Westbound at Exit 39 from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. April 9 into April 10.
"Drivers are urged to exercise caution and adhere to detour signs while traveling in the area," wrote authorities.
