Serious Crash On I-84 In Farmington Cleared: UPDATE

FARMINGTON, CT — A serious, three-vehicle accident closed a section of Interstate 84 in Farmington Monday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

Citing Connecticut State Police, WVIT Channel 30 is reporting that "serious injuries" were sustained by two of the vehicle operators and they have been rushed to the hospital.

The DOT reports the crash was on I-84 West between exits 39A and 39, initially resulting in the closure of the west side of the highway, but WFSB Channel 3 reported at 6:21 a.m. that the east side had been closed as well.

A few minutes later, however, WFSB showed traffic crawling on the eastbound section of the highway and the DOT was still reporting that only the west side was closed.

The wreck was first reported at 5:49 a.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's incident report
