FARMINGTON, CT — Sunday's storms led to a tree falling on utility wires in Farmington, resulting in the closure of a state roadway Monday morning, but it has since reopened.

The Farmington Police Department at 7:45 a.m. said Plainville Avenue (aka Route 177) was closed from West District Road to Silversmith Road due to the situation.

Motorists were asked to avoid that area if possible, the FPD said, and detours were available from Silversmith Road to Coat Lane to West District Road.
