FARMINGTON, CT — A tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 84 in Farmington caused major traffic headaches for Friday afternoon commuters, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports the blaze happened on I-84 West between exits 39A and 39, resulting in the right two lanes now being closed.

This, the DOT reported, has caused a massive,2.8-mile traffic backup between exits 41 and 39 as crews tended to the scene.
