Downed Pole Prompts Road Closure In Busy Area Of Glastonbury

Detours were in place after a tree came down on a busy road in Glastonbury Tuesday afternoon.

 Hubbard Street in Glastonbury, between Buttonball Lane and New London Turnpike, was closed to traffic Tuesday afternoon after a utility pole tumbled over, bringing electrical lines with it.

GLASTONBURY, CT β€” Hubbard Street in Glastonbury, between Buttonball Lane and New London Turnpike, was closed to traffic Tuesday afternoon after a utility pole tumbled over, bringing electrical lines with it.

The incident was reported by local officials at 4 p.m. Eversource Energy was reporting 19 outages as of 4:45 p.m.

Vehicles headed to Glastonbury High School were being sent to the New London Turnpike entrance.
