Downed Pole Prompts Road Closure In Busy Area Of Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT — Hubbard Street in Glastonbury, between Buttonball Lane and New London Turnpike, was closed to traffic Tuesday afternoon after a utility pole tumbled over, bringing electrical lines with it.

The incident was reported by local officials at 4 p.m. Eversource Energy was reporting 19 outages as of 4:45 p.m.

Vehicles headed to Glastonbury High School were being sent to the New London Turnpike entrance.

Eversource was at the scene and power was restored by the evening hours.
