In Memoriam: Sharon M. Tucker

Sharon M. Tucker, 76, of Glastonbury, passed away surrounded by her loving caring family on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Born in Hartford on December 31, 1939, a daughter of the late Herbert B. and Svea (Lamberg) Tucker, she had been a resident of Glastonbury for over 40 years. Sharon was a graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford, Class of 1957. Prior to her retirement, Sharon was employed for 40 years as an Executive Assistant by CIGNA in Bloomfield. She was a member and very involved as the “ambassador” with the condominium complex at Meadow Hill in Glastonbury. Sharon was an avid gardener who also loved animals, knitting, and bird watching.

Sharon is survived by a sister, Sandra Christensen and her husband Theodore of Granby; a devoted and caring niece, Karin Foley and her husband James of South Windsor; a beloved nephew, Keith T. O’Brien and his wife Joy of South Windsor; and many other nieces, nephews, neighbors, former co-workers, and dear friends.

Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by five sisters, Shirley English, Sheila Nelson, Sonja Aregood, Suzanne Toscano, and Solveig “Sonny” O’Brien.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at a later date at Green Cemetery, Glastonbury at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite B, Southington, CT 06489 or to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.

The D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
