GLASTONBURY, CT β€” A pedestrian was seriously hurt over the weekend after a collision with a vehicle in Glastonbury, police said.

The incident took place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, along the 100 block of Glastonbury Boulevard, according to an incident report.

Initial responding police officers and an EMS crew provided medical care to the pedestrian at the scene and the person was then transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to an incident report.

The pedestrian has not been identified by police.

The Glastonbury Police Traffic Unit and the Metro Traffic Services regional accident reconstruction team are investigating just what happened, but a preliminary report indicates that the pedestrian was crossing Glastonbury Boulevard from north to south, and was struck by a vehicle traveling west.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Glastonbury Boulevard was closed in both directions for a several hours during the initial investigation.
