NORWICH, CT — A woman who suffered a near-fatal seizure at a Blake Shelton concert was rescued by a nurse who happened to be nearby, according to The Norwich Bulletin. Sandra Swenor, 60, was waiting in the gaming area at Mohegan Sun casino Friday night when she suffered a seizure so severe that it stopped her heart and lungs.

Nearby, Cindy Edwards, 44, of East Haddam, a regional supervising nurse who worked at both Backus and Windham hospitals, was alerted to Swenor's emergency. Edwards provided life-saving chest compressions, and Swenor was later transported to Backus Hospital.

She is scheduled to be released from the hospital Wednesday.
