In Memoriam: Norma Clark Dornfried
The Rocky Hill resident passed away Jan. 31 at the age of 84.

Norma Clark (Coste) Dornfried, 84,
of Rocky Hill passed away peacefully on January 31, 2016 surrounded by family at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
Norma was the daughter of Fred and Edith Clark of Ft. Fairfield, ME, where she spent
her youth and became lifelong soul mates with her cousins Eva Campbell Cyr & Vivian Campbell Harshman.

After moving to Connecticut she married Donald W. Coste Sr. with whom she had 5 children and was later remarried to John
L. Dornfried.
Norma held various jobs during her life,
including packing parachutes at Cheney Mills in Manchester during the Korean war, and the one she was most proud of was her job at the Hartford State Technical College student services dept. There she helped many students of all ages, including her son Steven and daughter Susan, to achieve their degrees and secure jobs in technological disciplines, and also inspired her daughters Jeanne and Marilyn to pursue similar jobs to
her own.

She is survived by her loving children; Steven
Coste and his wife Pamela of Berlin, Susan Coste and her husband Joseph Lombardo of Newington, Jeanne Gagnon and her husband Michael of Andover, Marilyn & David Haney of Marlborough, 6 grandchildren; Marie Coste, Robert Coste, Shawna Glanovsky, Samuel
Gagnon, Zachary & Jessica Haney, 2 great-grandchildren; Taryn & Keira Glanovsky, 6 nieces; Barbara Ireland, Brenda Mitchell, Charlene O’Hora, Bonnie Jackson, Debra
Harmon, Paula Hughes, 6 nephews; David Hattman, Glen Davis, George, Wayne, Mark & Kenneth Coste, several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren.
She is predeceased by; her parents Fred & Edith Clark, her sister Freda Clark Mitchell, her brother Donald Clark, her son Donald W. Coste Jr. and her husband John L. Dornfried.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4 between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Funeral services will also be held at Rose Hill at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Lung Association.
