80th Anniversary of the WWII Battle of the Bulge Dsiplay

At The South Windsor Library

"The 80th Anniversary of the WWII Battle of the Bulge is December 16th. The hard fought battle with Germany lasted until January 25, 1945. The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, was the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during the Second World War.

It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region between Belgium and Luxembourg. The battle was fought under extremely harsh winter conditions with heavy snow, fog and bitter cold. To remember those who fought and died there, the World War II Legacy Foundation, Inc. and Iwo Jima/World War II Museum has set up a large display about the battle at the South Windsor Library, Connecticut. It can be viewed throughout December and most of January. Please stop by and read about several of our heroic Veterans who fought there and view mementos from the European Theater during WWII. For questions about the display, please contact Gary Roy at (860) 810-8736."
