Barricaded Person In Vehicle Briefly Closes South Windsor Street
Police requested motorists and pedestrians avoid a portion of Nevers Road for a brief period due to the situation Tuesday morning.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Motorists and pedestrians were requested by police to avoid a segment of Nevers Road briefly Tuesday morning, due to a person barricaded inside a vehicle.
Around 9:50 a.m., police issued a plea on social media to avoid the area of Nevers and Lake Street due to the situation. It was resolved shortly thereafter, as "an emotionally disturbed person" inside the vehicle "was safely transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," police said.
The roadway was reopened shortly before 10:30 a.m., police reported.
