SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Residents who have the McDonald's App might want to use it if they plan on visiting the golden arches on Thursday, Oct. 10.

On that day, 20 percent of App sales at the Route 5 location in South Windsor will help the town's high school athletics department.

The special fundraiser is from 3 to 9 p.m. that day.

According to McDonald's, more than 130 of its Connecticut restaurants are participating in the program, with many state high school and/or middle school sports departments benefitting.

"We are a local brand at heart, and our commitment goes beyond providing great food to the communities we serve. All McDonald’s in New England are locally owned and operated by families or business owners who take great pride in their communities," said Sara Amato, a New England McDonald’s owner/operator who also oversees the McDonald’s app engagement for the region.
