Christmas Tree Pickup Schedule Announced In South Windsor
The South Windsor Public Works Department will be picking up Christmas trees curbside beginning the week of Jan. 9.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Special collections for the purpose of recycling whole Christmas trees have been scheduled. The first Christmas tree collection will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 9, and the last will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 16.
Collection will be on customers' refuse collection day of this week. Trees must be placed at the curb for collection by 7 a.m. There will be one pass per street.
The collection at the following condominiums will be only on Friday, Jan. 13 and Friday, Jan. 20: Brookside, Bryrewood, Burr Meadow, Chapel Hill, Cinnamon Springs, Mill River, Parkview South,

Pleasant Hills, Pleasant Valley, Plum Ridge, Strawbridge and Westage.
The town’s contractor will collect trees only from those areas designated by the association for this purpose. Trees placed in plastic bags will not be picked up.

For those who cannot wait until Jan. 9, or miss the special pickups, Christmas trees can be collected with refuse if branches are trimmed back 8 inches from the stem, and tree lengths do not exceed 4 feet. Branches are to be placed inside plastic bags, and bags and stem in the refuse container.
