The South Windsor Historical Society invites local parents to bring their children to the Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse Museum, 771 Ellington Rd., for its annual holiday visit by Mr. and Mrs. Claus Dec. 12 from noon to 3 p.m.
Museum chair Joan Walsh said photos may be taken with the North Pole couple, and there will be gifts for the children and refreshments. The event is free, but non-perishable food items for the South Windsor Food Bank are welcome.
Used as a one-room school from 1862 to 1952, the building has been renovated and expanded by the Historical Society as a museum containing school and town memorabilia. The gift shop, featuring items related to local history, will also be open Walsh added that a virtual tour of the museum and more information about the museum and the Society are available on Facebook or at www.southwindsorhistory.org.
