Hidden Gems Of Hartford And Tolland Counties

Let's go play a Gem of a disc golf course in Hartford County.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The latest trip to a Hidden Gem takes us to South Windsor and the disc golf course at Lawrence Road Park.

The park itself is located on a side street off Dart Hill Road. Look closely and you'll see the metal baskets for the disc golf. Parking is on Lawrence Road itself.

The Lawrence Road Disc Golf Course features flat, open terrain with what town officials term "moderate obstacles."

The course layout currently consists of 14 tee pads and 10 baskets. A layout of 18 holes is a mix of A/B tee pads, three shared tee pad/basket shots, and a single tee pad to A/B baskets. Players follow a clockwise route from the right corner of the parking lot to start a loop. Players work their ways through the woods, back into the clearing at the northwest end of the park, down the tree line and around the perimeter back toward the parking area.
