SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A single-car crash near the intersection of Nevers and Graham roads resulted in the death of the driver early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Around 1:16 a.m., a passerby contacted police to report an accident. A man driving an Audi sedan was determined to be the only occupant, and was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.

An investigation determined the Audi had been the subject of an attempted motor vehicle stop earlier in the night by a South Windsor police officer after committing a motor vehicle violation, Cleverdon said.
