Police Seek Witnesses To Fatal Sunday Evening Crash In South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — An early evening crash on Route 5 northbound Sunday between a motorcycle and a tractor trailer which resulted in the death of the motorcyclist is still under investigation, and police are asking any witnesses to contact them.

The collision took place around 6:55 p.m. just south of the intersection of John Fitch Boulevard and Chapel Road. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, and later died. He was identified as Norman Poulin, 60, of East Windsor, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.

Investigators from the South Windsor Police Department and Metro Traffic Services closed the road for more than four hours while reconstructing the crash, Cleverdon said.
