SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A portion of Deming Street will be closed to traffic during weekday hours beginning Thursday, due to replacement of water main by the Connecticut Water Co. (CWC).

The street will be closed to thru traffic between Buckland Road and Slater Street Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local travel by residents and school buses will be allowed, and driveway access will be maintained, according to the CWC.

Traffic will be directed to Oakland Road to bypass the construction area. The detour route is expected to be in place through Sept. 15 so that 2,400 feet of water main, or nearly one-half mile, can be installed. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of October, according to the CWC.
