Rollover Crash Ties Up Traffic On Route 5 In South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A two-vehicle collision at the junction of Route 5 and Ellington Road Thursday afternoon interrupted traffic flow for about 45 minutes while first responders worked to clear the scene.

The crash took place just after 3:30 p.m. One vehicle rolled over onto its side, requiring mechanical extrication of the driver, according to the South Windsor Fire Department.

Both vehicle operators were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. Traffic was detoured until the vehicles were removed, fire officials said.
