The official dedication in honor of Mary J. Etter is scheduled for April 12.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — After a 38-year career with the town, retired South Windsor Public Library director Mary J. Etter will be permanently honored next month, when the building will be renamed in her honor.
In recognition of Etter's outstanding contributions to the community, the official renaming ceremony will take place April 12 at 1 p.m. at 1550 Sullivan Avenue. Weather permitting, the event will take place outside in front of the awning by the lower entrance of the building.
Under Etter’s leadership, from 1984 to 2023, the library flourished as a hub for literacy, education and community engagement. Etter additionally oversaw a large addition to the building in 1992.
